I couldn't have done this without my amazing and loving husband, Michael. With rides to work, helping in the kitchen, back rubs, letting me rest as much as needed, he's been the kind of partner that all women should have in pregnancy. His recent decision to leave work a month early has done wonders for not only our marriage, the rest of the pregnancy, but also our home. When I'm away at the office, our home is his new office as he crafts wine lists, articles and continues to pursue his career in comfort - and being on call if I need anything or if a scary situation may pop up.
He's attended the majority of my pre-natal appointments and makes it a point to ask the midwives as many questions as possible. He also endured 6 weeks of Natural Childbirth Class - at three hours a pop.
He's installed new lighting, draperies, a new crib, rocking chair, moved in a new set of furniture and makes constant trips to Goodwill to drop off the clothes and items I continue to go through.
The video below is just a sampling of how understanding and helpful my hubby's been. I say thank you to him every day, but he always responds with, 'You're carrying our baby, this is the least I can do to take care of my two girls'.
I'll say it again, Thanks, Babe.
With my maternity leave looming, I've become somewhat of a robot. Late nights at the office to complete my work and transition projects to colleagues are complemented with moving dressers, couches and random items at home.
I've found that my creative bursts are slim, I have words I want to write, but don't have the energy to spew out.
I've never been so tired in all my life. My mind constantly races and I have to-do notes upon to-do notes.
I've gotten used to the protruding tummy and often forget that there is a little person inside of the buldge, getting ready to say hello and flip my world on its head.
I know that when she arrives, these late nights, blurry blood-shot eyes and weakened keyboard wrists will be but a glimmer.
